Excedrin beat the ibuprofen right out of me!

User Review

The Good I'll admit, I'm an ibuprofen person. I'm one of those people that thinks ibuprofen fixes everything, because everything stems around inflammation. Well, my brother-in-law got me hooked on Excedrin for Migraines and then I ventured off to Excedrin Extra Strength when I didn't have a headache. I type a lot as a medical transcriptionist and this stuff really knocks out the aches and pains I have in my hands. Ibuprofen has so many long-term use problems that I had to get away from it. GERD and liver damage aren't something I wanted to deal with in the future, so Excedrin it is! It's effective and it has this boost of caffeine that you don't even notice. Wary at first about taking additional caffeine (b/c I love my Pepsi) I soon overcame that fear when I didn't have a jittery or restless bone in my body from it. Not one single side-effect!
The Bad I've noticed the discount stores will either carry a generic version of Excedrin (which I refuse to buy since I've had such great luck with the brand name) or they'll only have Excedrin Migraine. Not fair! I'm a bargain hunter!
The Ugly The size of these pills is astonishing. Not only do they feel like a full-sized frisbee in my mouth, they are almost 1/2 inch thick too! It's like putting an ottoman in your mouth and trying to swallow. They aren't enteric-coated so you taste them pretty quickly if you don't get them down the hatch. My advise is to have plenty of water handy! I deal with the monstrosity of a pill to get the 15 minute relief of pain.
