My parents’ fridge broke down last week and they asked from my to search the Internet and find an ideal fridge for their needs. These were the requirements: It has to be a side-by-side refrigerator, a product of a famous manufacturer and of course they want it white to suit with the whole kitchen. I make a big search and I found Whirlpool ED5FTGX (25.3 cu. ft.) side by side refrigerator. I think that this is the best solution the above parameters.

My parents have cold water and ice at their fingertips. In our family we drink a lot of cold water and we always have problem with the freeze. This refrigerator solved our problem. It is a very big refrigerator. It has plenty storage and my parents said the never managed to full it like their previous refrigerator. |
| The Bad | The tray is so week and you can put heavy items on it. That’s all! |

All things considered, this side-by-side has been a blessing in our home!

| The Good | For just a standard, limited frills side-by-side I'd totally recommend this one. Whirlpool has an excellent reputation so I didn't hesitate, especially since it was priced at under $1000 (unlike the competitors with less features). I purchased an exterior latch lock device so the little once couldn't get in there willy nilly, and the water/ice feature allows them easy use. We have 6 people in this household, so we needed a BIG model that was dependable and wouldn't fall apart in a year. We've been very happy with this model and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. Plus, this was our first side-by-side and I didn't want to invest $3K in something that I might not really like the style of once I tried to use it. So far so good! |
| The Bad | It gets a lot of wear and tear at this household from the kiddos and the outside isn't all glossy and shiny anymore. Dings and scratches a little too easily. |
| The Ugly | The worst part about it is the tiny freezer capacity. I know, that's what I get for buying a side-by-side, and without my upright freezer in the garage I would be up a creek. You just don't have the stackable room like you do in the other style fridges, but it's perfect for the compact freezer snacks for the kids. Definitely can't fit a deer roast next to a slab of ribs in there! |
