All things considered, I don't know how I lived without this Fagor Duo Combi 5-piece Pressure Cooker for so long!

User Review

The Good Being that I’m a Presto and Hamilton Beach kind of kitchen gadget gal, I had no idea who or what Fagor was. Boy am I glad I ventured out, merely on the recommendation of a friend, to get this Fagor Duo Combi 5-piece Pressure Cooker set. Formerly, I used the trusty old aluminum pressure cooker passed down from generation to generation with the scary top valve that looked like it could self combust in a moments notice. My husband and I felt it was time to upgrade, especially considering post-heart attack, we needed to drastically change our eating habits. This stainless steel set features TWO pressure cookers, 4-qt and 8-qt, with interchangeable lids and a steamer/pasta insert. One of the lids in this set is for pressure cooking on either pots and you’ll also get a tempered glass lid that fits both pots as well. I have made everything from rice to veggies and Louisiana pork chops to deer roast in under an hour with everything turning out moist, tender and unbelievably delicious!
The Bad In the box I received a coupon for a free pan, which turned out to be Teflon-coated instead of stainless steel, plus I had to pay an $8.95 S&H fee. So much for free. Additionally, I occasionally have to use a screwdriver to tighten up the handles… Ok I ask the hubby to do that, but still, it’s an inconvenience.
The Ugly The worst part is the price. With a family of 6 it’s hard to justify spending over $100, nearly $200 in some stores, for a pressure cooker. But in the long run even this pays off with the speed you can cook, how much healthier you are cooking and the mere fact that stainless steel while durable, just isn’t cheap.
Would you recommend? Yes
