| The Good | The brilliant design and 12 MP camera with Carl Zeiss 5X optical zoom lens and 28mm wide angle lens to get more out of every picture. The Optical Steadyshot feature and enhanced face detection with smile shutter all add to capturing that special image to be cherished for a lifetime. |
| The Bad | The optical zoom cannot be implemented while recording videos and the lack of a component HD TV-out cable is a disappointment. |

The Sony Cyber Shot W290 is the perfect choice for all your photography needs with a host of impressive features to make sure each photo leaves an everlasting impression. The BIONZ processor combined with the detailed Carl Zeiss 5X optical zoom and 28 mm wide angle lens ensures that you get the best out of every picture- be it portrait, panaromic or landscape! The Sony integrated photo features like Optical Steadyshot reduces photo shake to a great extent while the Enhanced Face Detection and Smile Shutter help capture golden moments on screen in their natural glory to create timeless pictures.The blue colour also hides scratches and fingerprint marks on the camera, giving it a textured feel. In terms of photographic technicalities, the W290 impresses on all counts with a 12 MP camera that makes photography a treat. There are options of recording a 720p HD quality video and Sony's Intelligent Auto mode takes away all the focus balance calculations. The exposure bracketing feature and impressive burst times ranging from 1.3 seconds with a nominal 0.4 s shutter lag ensures optimal picture quality even in dimly lit interiors. The quality and color adjustment of pictures are also top notch adding to the merits of the w290. A year ago I was using the SONY DSC W1 digital camera. I can’t say that I was not satisfied from the quality of its photographs. The big disadvantage was the duration of life of the battery. So I decided to buy something else, equally good in the quality, but with bigger duration of battery. Finally, afterwards a big research I led to SONY Cyber-Shot W290. This digital camera is a powerful photographic machine! I found it in a neighborhood shop in the blue color, which is with difference the best, in the unique price of 240$. I bought it and I did not regret it. Now I can take more than 300 photographs with flash without recharging the battery and this satisfies me a lot. Contrary to my previous camera, this has its own rechargeable battery. So the cost for purchase of new batteries is null. Of course, the photographs that I take with this camera are of the best quality, while it has a Carl-zeiss lens and 12 mpixels analysis. I am 100% satisfied with this camera and I recommend you to acquire it…
