Nokia E71 is the next offering in the E-series after Nokia E51 and it proves to be a great combination for business and entertainment under the hood. It has a 2.8 inches QVGA screen with great resolution and a full QWERTY keypad that makes it very easy to type text messages and emails. There are office document editors, business short cut keys and a host of office applications in its Symbian OS which boasts of a ARM 11 369 Mhz processor to take care of your business needs. The feature which I found most beneficial is its connectivity support with 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and 3.6Mbps on the 3G and HSDPA network which makes mobile computing really easy and you can stay connected all the time. I am all for business with pleasure so I checked out the entertainment options on the phone. It has a 3.15 MP camera but the picture clarity is not upto the mark. The music player is of decent quality while the FM radio has good clarity but lacks RDS support. A huge number of audio files are supported and new playlists are added seamlessly. I liked basic volume controls and found the stereo widening feature a nifty little addition to boost my music. There were social networking applications to keep me in touch with friends and I found this combination of productivity and connectivity quite enthralling. Overall, I would place Nokia E71 as a top notch business phone that can also serve as a quality dual entertainment device. A smart choice for all corporates! |

Something differrent
I think that this is the first Nokia which looks like a Blackberry mobile phone. That was the reason for which I bought this device. I have to admit that I bought this phone only for the design. When I opened it and I started navigation I discovered that this is a very sophisticated model. Its operating system is very interesting and the big advantage is that it is very user friendly device. Something that I didn’t know is that this model comes with Microsoft office suite so I can open and edit my word and excel files.
The bad point of this device is the price. 400$ for a device like this are too much. Some friends of mine claim that the price is very low for a smartphone like E71. I disagree with that.
Something that my father noticed is that the device’s clock is very big. You can press a button and the digital clock appears in full screen mode with white font and black background. I pretend that this model has the biggest digital clock on a mobile phone screen. And this is something that elderly people looks for.
