| The Good | action packed, good satirical humor, interesting concept |
| The Bad | personally not a fan of narration, some unbelievable moments, foul language from the mouth of babes may offend. |

This is a good super hero movie. It doesn't take itself too seriously, pokes fun at the genre, and manages to keep a coherent, albeit crazy storyline. For the most part the cast is unrecognizable with the exceptions in Nick Cage, Mark Strong, and McLovin. Kick-Ass starts off with a bang, setting the fun, violent tone for the rest of the movie. The movie is pretty formulaic in terms of superhero origins, but the similarities to the likes of Spiderman end there. The story takes an interesting turn and introduces a father and daughter duo who really change the game up for Kick-Ass. Kick-Ass is definitely an R-rated movie. foul language and bloody violence is around every corner, but for the target audience it should be okay. There are some concerns about the eleven year old Hit Girl who curses and kills her way through the movie, but again not a big deal if your old enough for a R movie anyways. This film also boasts Nick Cage's best performance in recent memory. Cage's portrayal of big daddy is bad-ass and hilarious all rolled into one Batman looking character. Oh, and McLovin is still McLovin and will probably always be McLovin. The action in Kick-Ass is top notch and there are even some dramatic moments. Overall, the movie is very entertaining. This is comedy/satire Superhero Movie should have been. |
